So we’ve had some customers asking about bed bugs and how they can protect themselves from an infestation. Everyone has heard of bed bugs, but not everyone knows what they are or what they do.

Bed bugs are parasites that feed mainly on people’s blood but are capable of feeding on pet’s blood as well. They like to hide in dark crevices, usually in bedrooms, around furniture or in creases/edges of your mattress. Although the most common place for an infestation is the bedroom, they can be found in other places as well: the bathroom or living room in a home for example.

How do they get there? It doesn’t matter if your home is clean or dirty; ANYONE can get a bed bug infestation. They can enter your home by clinging onto your luggage or clothing. Though you are more prone to picking them up if you travel, you can pick them up just about anywhere.
